Eastern Spruce, Pine and Fir (SPF) has been the choice of builders for many years. As the first choice for framing material, softwood lumber is dependable, cost-effective and offers a superior strength-to-weight ratio. Kiln drying helps to ensure a consistent product time after time.
Eastern White Pine (EWP) is the natural choice where warmth, character and quality are preferred. Everlasting for interior and exterior applications, Eastern White Pine (EWP) has been the traditional choice of craftsmen in New England and Eastern Canada since the 1700s.
Hardwoods have been valued for centuries as a raw material for the finest furniture, cabinetry, musical instruments, flooring and other work of craftsmen. As well, those species and varieties grown in cold northern climates are among the most sought-after by manufacturers of high-quality wood products.
Green wood has been recently cut and therefore has not had an opportunity to dry by evaporation of the internal moisture. Green wood is considered to have 100% moisture content relative to air-dried or seasoned wood, which is considered to be 20%.
Skeleton crates are a cost-effective solution opposed to shipping cargo bare and the crate structure accommodates to irregular shaped goods. Skeleton crates are much lighter than enclosed crates, potentially lowering your overall shipping costs.
Pressure treated (PT) lumber is wood that has been infused with chemical preservatives to protect the wood from rot and insects. The wood is placed in a depressurized holding tank that removes the air and replaces it with a preservative.
Construction grade lumber is used for light framing. Knots must be sound, firm, encased, and tight. There are limits on most of the defects, with the exception of some occurring only on the surface.
